Les Miserables at Benedum Center Pittsburgh

From the moment of its creation in the late 1900s, Les Misérables has transformed from a short-lived musical sung in French produced in Paris to today's longest-running musical in the world. Over the last century that the play has been ongoing, the show has toured in 22 different languages, in 53 countries, and has been met with applause and standing ovations worldwide.

In November, the musical’s run arrives in a new location in Pittsburgh, where Les Mis will be hosted in Benedum Center on Wednesday 26th November 2025. Benedum Center was purposefully created and constructed as the unrivaled play venue of Pittsburgh, containing a well-crafted stage and seating setup that is sizeable enough to have a play of this scale, as well as appropriate amenities that can be found inside the venue.

The musical is all about the life of Jean Valjean, a parolee desperately seeking redemption after breaks free from the law. Valjean's entire tale, presented through two emotional acts, are performed sung-through entirely from the start to the finish of the incredible show. The West End musical being fully sung-through is a clever manner of execution that this show has over other known theater shows, and is the main reason why each minute of the play always stuns its viewers, unveling characters' motivations in every word or note sung.

It's quite unique and due to this style, the show is also full of unforgettable dramatic performances. Interestingly, despite the myriad of tunes that can be heard in the show, every single role in Les Misérables is able to be highlighted, with each individual ballad given as much emotional depth as the rest. Not one single person who has attended Les Mis can forget Fantine’s “I Dreamed A Dream”, which conveys with the song a powerful longing and has been covered without end by other performers in contemporary cinema. “Bring Him Home” also emotionally closes out the conflict in our beloved characters, revealing to us the very soul of Valjean's character in only one completely magnificent performance.
