The greatest who-done-it board game now has a live performance, and if you were a fan of playing Clue with loved ones, this performance is not only going to be thrilling and enjoyable, but it's going to bring a sense of warm familiarity that is sure to warm your heart. As you would expect from a play based on a board game with varied conclusions, this performance also has various paths that it can go. Even if you saw Clue - The Musical at other stops, this performance here in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania could be entirely fresh.
Trying to create a storyline based on a board game isn't the most straightforward thing to do. One of the initial successes that the playwrights got right, though, is including some of the figures from the game as well as the classic locations where the murder may have taken place. Forgive us for filling that last line with spoilers, but then again, if you're checking out this performance, there's a good chance you're well-versed in the concept behind Clue, the board game! Not only do the characters from the game make an appearance, but so do their costumes from the source material. The production team has taken some liberties with costume design, but there is an commitment to keep it really close to the source material. It's not like you're going to be wondering who Colonel Mustard is when he takes the stage!
There's always a sweet spot when it comes to the best seats for a theater show. Usually Clue - The Musical is very close to the audience, and they're looking for a sense of viewer participation, and that could mean that sitting near the stage is preferable than it is for other plays. Still, the drawback with the front rows of the theater is that you don’t fully catch the wider perspective of the stage, which you're going to require to catch the details a lot better! Choose a spot in the middle of Benedum Center, further away from the stage, for the most immersive views of this show.
Spots inside Benedum Center are starting at $84. Be sure to hit the "Buy Tickets" link immediately because at those prices, they won’t stick around.
