Steely Dan was founded by main members Walter Becker and Donald Fagen, finding insane popularity in the late 1970s. Releasing 7 albums over that period of time, Steely Dan quickly found fame as a band cleverly incorporating various elements into their sets. Becker and Fagen write sharp, sarcastic lyrics about drugs, love affairs and crime and are known for their obsessive perfectionism in the recording studio! After disbanding in 1981, a cult following remained and Becker & Fagen later reunited with concerts in 1993. Their most recent work has included two albums, one of which won a Grammy Award for Album of the Year. 2001 saw the band inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and now the are continuing their tour.
